For the first time in Arlberg's sporting history, the Arlberg Wadlbeisser will take place in St. Anton am Arlberg on 10 and 11 July 2020. There are 3 different distances to choose from, with up to 24 hurdles to overcome during the obstacle course through St. Anton.
On 10 July 2020 the youngest of the athletes will start at s'Wadlbeisserli. The children's run takes place in the centre of the village and, depending on the age group of the participants, consists of 1 to 6 obstacles, which have to be overcome skillfully and with a lot of fun.
On the following day, the older players will have the chance to show off their skills. There are two routes to choose from: the short course comprises 7.5 km, 350 metres of altitude difference and 15 obstacles. In the long version, 13.5 km, 700 metres of altitude difference and 24 obstacles must be mastered.
Loud noise from the spectators and fans, a DJ and a moderator provide the necessary motivation for the brave athletes. Loud cheers are also needed to overcome obstacles with promising names like knuckle burners, hamster cage, monkey swing or trip hazard with a lot of skill and endurance, which are placed along the route.
Interested athletes can either sign up for the sportive individual classification, cooperative pair classification or as part of a motivating team - but despite all the effort and shaky muscles, one thing must not be neglected: the fun of this challenging event!
