HOLIDAY CAN BE SO BEAUTIFUL

The Green Ring

Full of magic and natural beauty, this three-day tour needs to be experienced with all senses. The region surrounding Lech Zürs introduces a fantastic realm of wonders that does not only inspire the imagination, but elevates it to an art form.

Along the three individual stages, hikers are invited to explore a poetic kingdom of myths and legends, at the same time haunting yet contemporary. The panorama alone makes this journey worthwhile – over rugged mountain ridges, down into green valleys, past glistening mountain lakes and burbling streams.

Wondrous creatures, romantic myths and awe-inspiring installations – the Green Ring is abundant with life and fascinating details. Here, time is not a factor of importance and everyday life loses its meaning completely. An atmospheric alternative, a promise of peace and quiet – it’s worth it!

The three stages of the Green Ring

1st stage:
Off we go! From the starting point at the postal office the trail follows the riverside promenade. Up to the Rüfikopf by cableway. Across the Pazüelbach stream to the unique Hüttenbibliothek library. Past the valley terminal of the Trittkopflift to Zürs. From here return to Lech with the cost-free bus or embark on a little side trip to the European watershed. An impressive installation awaits you at the Flexenpass!

2nd stage:
Take the cost-free bus at the postal office to Zürs. Along steep serpentines up to the Zürsersee lake. From here further upwards via Taurins Höhle (Taurin’s Cave) and the Pforte (Gate) to the glacier town at the Madloch. Via a narrow path through partially karstified terrain down to the saddle between Stierlochkopf and Zuger Mittagsspitze. Again via serpentines past the Riese Taurin (Giant Taurin). Along the way you find a waterfall, a grilling site and a fish pond. From the village centre of Zug back to starting point by bus.

3rd stage:
Take the cost-free bus at the postal office to Zug. From the Zuger Kirchle church through the village to the turning that leads to the fish pond. Along the path across the meadows, upwards to the fencing of the alp. Follow the trail to the edge of the forest. The forest trail leads steep upwards through to the Balmalp. From there proceed to the Kriegerhorn. Descend to the Chluppa and the reservoir lake towards the Kriegeralpe. Via picturesque hiking trail, relaxed walking path and asphalt road past the hotel Goldener Berg to the mountain terminal of the Bergbahn Oberlech. Along the cargo road through the forest aisle to the Libellensee lake. On the forest education path to the sweeping meadows of the Schlegelkopf. Downhill to the Rud-Alpe with its gorgeous sun terrace. Further downhill to the roofed bridge. Along the riverside promenade to the starting point!

The Green Riddle Ring

A mystery quest for everyone – junior investigators, watch out! Along the otherwise so calm path to the Rud-Alpe, young and old are challenged to solve a series of tricky quizzes! On the hunt for the password, the whole family needs to work as a team. As soon as the riddle is finally resolved, parents will find well-earned relaxation on the lovely sun terrace, whereas their offspring can chase the next adventure at the nearby water playground.
