Hiking with children at the Arlberg

A widespread network of hiking trails and a variety of playgrounds and natural wonders – the Arlberg region is the perfect holiday destination for you and your family. Come and enjoy the exciting holiday programme and playfully discover the region and its characteristics.

The cross-country skiing trail network, 40 kilometres in length, invites guests to embark on hiking tours also in summer, providing perfect conditions for families with prams. Enjoy a tour throughout the Verwalltal valley – 10 kilometres in length – and experience relaxed hours at the Verwallsee lake. Promising a fantastic mountain panorama, the cable car takes you upwards to the Arlberg mountain terminal where parents admire the epic view while their children frolic around on the playground.

Theme trails for children and families

The region offers little explorers a large network of remarkable outdoor stations, inviting children to learn about nature and helping them to better understand its wonders. On their exploration trips with the mascot “Hase Hoppl”, children playfully discover nature and get to know more about the classical elements – earth, water, wind and fire. Senn’s WunderWanderWeg provides them with all kinds of interesting information concerning the indigenous plant, herbal and animal worlds. This circular trail is considered to be a particularly family-oriented tourist attraction and its 25 outdoor stations guarantee fun for everyone!

Not only nature lovers, but also all thrillseekers will find the region to be the perfect backdrop for their holiday! For example, youths can test their biking skills at a trial lesson or have a go at archery whereas a vespertine torchlight hike offers the opportunity to experience the region’s mysterious side.

Overview of playgrounds at the Arlberg

Due to its variety of children’s playgrounds, monotony is a foreign concept at the Arlberg. No matter if they are located in the village centre, high up on the mountain or at a picturesque lake – these playgrounds offer the ultimate children’s paradise, loads of fun and laughing faces all around. Numerous slides, suspension bridges and trampolines let children and parents forget about time and enable them to fully enjoy the moment.
St. Anton offers playgrounds at the village park, the Verwallsee lake, the museum and the valley terminals of the Rendlbahn, Galzigbahn and Gampenbahn cableways. In Pettneu, you find one at the Wellnesspark Arlberg Stanzertal. In Schnann, a playground is located below the church. In Flirsch and Strengen, the playgrounds are each located next to the football fields. Strengen offers an additional playground at the Egger pond.
